METZELER

Metzeler is a renowned tire manufacturer with a long history of producing high-performance tires for motorcycles and scooters. Known for their exceptional grip, durability, and handling characteristics, Metzeler tires are trusted by both professional racers and recreational riders. With a focus on innovation and safety, Metzeler continues to set new standards in motorcycle tire technology.

ROADTEC™ Scooter boast extreme flexibility and versatility on the broadest range of weather, temperature and road conditions, in urban areas and beyond.

Grip in all conditions

Improved compound solution with a high content of SILICA in conjunction with the groove and sipes layout that enhance both the mechanical and chemical grip in all different situations.

Radial rears feature a dual-compound layout, where the center stripe covers approximately 20% of the tyre width, with the remaining 80% equally split between the two shoulders.

The compound on the shoulder features a higher percentage of silica for a better contact feeling when going into lean, especially when riding on wet.

The central stripe has a balanced mixture of silica and carbon-black to enhance high-speed stability, heat dispersal and to provide balance between abrasion resistance and grip.

Versatility of use in all seasons

The high content of SILICA in the compound recipe boasts extreme flexibility and versatility of use over a broad range of temperatures and road-surface conditions, in urban areas and beyond.

ROADTEC™ Scooter is the ideal solution to ensure excellent behavior, whatever the season, weather, temperature or riding conditions.

Superior handling and comfort

The structures underneath each size of the ROADTEC™ Scooter range are tuned in construction and material according with the specific need of each fitment.

As a general guideline, all structures of ROADTEC™ Scooter feature slim and more flexible carcasses (if compared with both Feelfree™ and Feelfree™ Wintec), characterized by an adaptive behavior and light weight that improves the handling and provides better riding comfort.

Thanks to the innovative rounded profiles the footprint area is short and wide which beyond reducing compound consumption and increasing wear regularity it provides a progressive behavior and safety feeling when going into lean.

The increased footprint area distributes the vehicle weight and acceleration forces over a greater surface, reducing compound stress and overheating.

Safety on wet and low friction surfaces

The ROADTEC™ Scooter tread design takes inspiration from the award winning ROADTEC™ 01, now featuring sipes for an effective tuning on scooter application.

This tread design has been developed to enhance mechanical traction, with a clearly perceivable benefit when accelerating and braking.

The shape and layout greatly contribute to maximize water drainage and mechanical friction, along with a strong ‘family feeling’ with the ROADTEC™ family.

The footprint area includes a high quantity of grooves and edges simultaneously in contact with the road, enhancing mechanical grip, water drainage and safety feeling; It also ensures more rubber in contact with the ground, especially during mid-lean, allowing higher grip starting from the very beginning of the lean.

The front tyre features a lot of transversal grooves that grip the asphalt as single elements and increase the amount of water drained while the short oppositely oriented sipes improve stability and control when braking. The sipes contribute also to increase traction on low-friction surfaces and compound warm-up.

The rear tyre features wide grooves and long sipes with opposed orientation that combine different effects_ when accelerating, the grooves enhance the traction especially on low friction surfaces and when braking, the sipes prevent lateral movements and increase stability.
